The LEP Program Contact must ensure that programs under his/her jurisdiction provide public notices regarding the language assistance policies and procedures for L&I. Individual field offices will ensure that their customers are notified that language assistance is available and is free of charge for L&I Program services.
The LEP Program Contact must ensure that signs are posted in the field office(s) lobbies or waiting areas and next to the telephone used to provide language access. This signage will inform participants, beneficiaries, registrants, and customers in general of the availability of free interpretation for L&I services and invite them to identify themselves as customers in need of language assistance. The LEP Program Contact must evaluate which signs and posters should indicate that "Language Services are available free of charge".
