PennSERVE Grant Opportunities

If you would like to be added to PennSERVE’s contact list to receive notice of grant opportunities, just submit our Contact Form and let us know!

PennSERVE provides funding to AmeriCorps programs across Pennsylvania that use national service as a tool to address local issues in key focus areas, including economic opportunity, education, disaster preparedness, environmental stewardship, healthy futures, and veterans and military families. Each of these programs uses AmeriCorps funding to recruit, place, and supervise AmeriCorps members to carry out service.

To be considered for funding, programs must submit an application to PennSERVE. Organizations must identify the need in their community, how AmeriCorps members are uniquely qualified to meet that need through the program design, and what performance measures the program will meet through its services.

2022 AmeriCorps Grants

PennSERVE’s 2022 – 2023 AmeriCorps Grant Competition will include two opportunities to apply.

Fall funding – Program Operating Grants Only: If selected by PennSERVE, applications are submitted to the AmeriCorps agency to compete with other single state and multi-state applicants.

Applications are due Tuesday, November 2, 2021 by 5:00 pm. Application documents include:

Spring Funding – Program Operating Grants and Planning Grants: Applicants compete at the state level. An agency that is not funded through the fall competition may be considered for funding in the spring grant competition. PennSERVE anticipates releasing the spring request for applications in November 2021.

Technical Assistance

PennSERVE will host a technical assistance session for new applicants on October 15 from 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm. Please register to attend: Additional sessions will be available when the Spring RFA is released.

2022 Multi-State AmeriCorps Programs

An organization applying to operate an AmeriCorps program in more than one state must apply to the federal AmeriCorps agency directly. Programs that intend to operate in and outside of Pennsylvania must complete the Multi-State AmeriCorps Consultation Form through America’s Service Commissions. The consultation form must be complete prior to the application deadline.

Public Health AmeriCorps

Public Health AmeriCorps will include a 400 million dollar investment, over five years, from the American Rescue Plan Act workforce funding that will enable the recruitment, training, and development of a new generation of public health leaders who are ready to respond to the public health needs of the nation by providing public health service in communities. More information on Public Health AmeriCorps, including how to apply, can be found on the AmeriCorps website:
