Class 1

State Licensed Vehicles with a registered GVWR in excess of 26,001# individual or in combination or vehicles requiring a Commercial Driver's License are covered by this classification. These include single axle, tandem axle, triaxle and semi-tractor trailer and combinations not listed as a "specialty vehicle" under Class 2.

Class 2

State Licensed Specialty Vehicles and Off-Road vehicles whose capacity exceeds that for which state licenses are issued (Articulating end dump and Rigid Frame end dump and similar equipment when not self-loaded). Specialty vehicles include tar and asphalt distributor trucks, semi-tractor trailer lowboy, ready mix concrete trucks, mobile mixers, slurry seal trucks, boom trucks, and liquid semi-tractor trailer trucks (water, fuel, liquid asphalt, oil).

Rigid frame end dumps rated 85 Ton and over will receive and additional fifty cents per hour over the Class 2 wage rate. When employed underground on new tunnel projects, drivers shall be reimbursed at twenty-five cents per hour additional to their regular classification.

When a truck in Class 2 is used for towing compressors, tar kettles, attachments to Ready-Mixed Concrete Trucks, etc., an additional ten cents per hour will be paid to the regular rate for the vehicle. Note: Grease Service and/or Mechanic trucks are excluded from these classifications.
